Is the truck driver responsible for unloading the crate?Last Updated: February 14, 2019
No, freight truck companies do not require their drivers to unload shipments if you have not requested the lift-gate service.
Please also remember:
- Your delivery address must be capable of accepting a freight truck.
- Someone will need to be present to sign for the delivery.
- The driver will move your order to the rear of the truck. You will have to unload from there (if lift-gate is not requested).
- Any charges for re-delivery or refusal of the shipment will be your responsibility.
Crates can be really heavy. Request the lift=gate service, the crate will be unloaded from the truck.
